Sports cars are a class of cars designed specifically for high dynamic, speed, power and performance. It is, in fact, a very old branch of car industry, dating back to before the WW1. The first sports car models were what’s called a ‘roadster’ and were largely meant for trek, and not for traveling across big streets or in the countryside. Nowadays, sports cars production is still very popular, its prime never faded.

Lamborghini is not exactly a purely sports car producer, they have created many cars that aren’t really fit for trek over the years. Still, this list can’t be complete without some Italian brands. Lamborghini itself was launched in 1963, and the brand’s products are counted amongst the fastest and most prestigious cars in the world.

However, they are still a very big name in the sports car industry, and they have been one for about 80 years now. Plus, only a small portion of their overall assortment was not fit for racing trek. De Tomaso

De Tomaso is one of the lesser known Italian brands. Unlike their counterparts from above, they were designed as an exclusively supercar producers. Their fate collided with many big names in European car industry over the years, because of which they were someone’s subsidiary for a good portion of their life (which began in 1959).

The modern Bugatti is a reincarnation of an old brand deceased in 1963. The contemporary brand is creating sports cars under Volkswagen. Their dearest product as of late was a Bugatti Veyron, of which they created many versions in 2005-2015. Still, they are just a shade of their former prime now.

Bugatti’s compatriots, Alpine, on another hand, have never died since their birth in 1955. Moreover, they are a pure sports car producer, although they frequently partnered with Renault, which later culminated in them buying the Alpine enterprise. Nowadays, they are a second-most-popular sports car producer after Bugatti.

Rimac is a new name in the car world. They are a Croatian company that started working in 2009. Their biggest feature is that they create fully-electric cars with the absolutely monstrous engines that go up to 370 km/h.

SSC

SSC is the biggest sports-only producer in the United States. They have created two fully-fledged models since 2004. One is called Ultimate Aero, and it has already made itself quite a name. The other is Tuatara, with the top speed of 460 km/h.
