What is Febreze?
Febreze is the name of a leading consumer brand known for its odor-eliminating products that refresh both the air and fabrics. Launched by Procter & Gamble in 1998, Febreze quickly became popular for its unique ability to neutralize, rather than just mask, unpleasant smells.
In terms of visual identity, Febreze fully lives up to its name — fresh and breathing. Even though the brand had several logo redesigns, the idea and style remained in their original state.
1996 – 2004
The first logo of the Febreze brand, created in 1996, was executed in a flat medium-dark shade of blue and featured just one element — the diagonally oriented lettering in a bold designer typeface with detached bars of the “F” and the “Z”. These two strokes feature smooth shapes, resembling the waves or the air movement.
2004 – 2012
The redesign of 2004 has added elegance to the Febreze logo by rewriting the wordmark in a lighter and smoother font, in the lowercase, and expanding the composition with a graphical emblem, which depicted a stylized window frame with a semi-transparent wide stroke on the background.
2012 – 2017
Another redesign was held by the brand in 2012. The style of the lettering remained the same, however the shades of blue were intensified. Now the distinctive inscription was written in a straight horizontal line, accompanied by a smooth gradient wave in lighter shades and enclosed in a clean circular frame.
2017 – today
In 2017 the logo of the Febreze brand was simplified even more — the shades of the wave now repeated the shades of the characters, and the circular frame was removed. The intense blue lettering Is set against a plain white background, looking bright and elegant.
Colors
In terms of colors, Febreze has always been consistent, using only shades of blue for its logo. The intense tones of blue from the latest versions create a fresh and cool image, evoking a sense of professionalism and excellence.
Fonts
The lowercase lettering, which is the main element of the Febreze logo, is written in an elegant designer typeface, which doesn’t have many commercial analogs but looks quite close to such fonts as Zar2 Script and P22 Sneaky Protrade.
