What is Reva?
Reva Electric Car Company is an Indian automobile manufacturer specializing in electric vehicles. It focuses on the design, development, and production of compact and environmentally friendly electric cars.
1994 – now
The Reva logo consists exclusively of orange text. A sans-serif font, quite bold, has rounded edges and is slightly tilted to the right. The letters “E” and “V” are connected to each other and create one solid element. There is a lot of space between the letters of the logo, the letter “R”, like the letter “A”, is not completely closed, which indicates the openness of the company, and the orange color is a symbol of sociability, the desire for self-development.
Emblem and symbol
The company emblem consists of the first letter of the company name. The “legs” of the letter “R” through the top are connected by a curved line that forms an unfinished circle. The emblem is usually presented in silver color.
Font and color
The bold futuristic lettering from the primary Reva badge is set in a custom modern sans-serif typefaces with the uppercase characters inclined to the right, adding a sense of speed and motion. The closest commercial fonts to the one, used in the Reva badge, are, probably, Sofachrome Italic, or or Sofachrome Book Italic, with some modifications.
As for the color palette of the Reva visual identity, it’s quite laconic. The badge I set in orange with a plain white background. Orange here is a color of energy and determination, and shows the essence of the company and it’s intentions.
