Lamborghini is an Italian brand of cars and water vehicles. The history of this brand began in 1963, when the Italian car manufacturer founded the company Automobili Ferruccio Lamborghini S.A. The name for the company comes from the surname of Ferruccio Lamborghini.
Meaning and History
The bull is much more than just a symbol of strength or sportsmanship. There is an astrological motif: Ferruccio Lamborghini was born on April 28, 1916, so his zodiac sign is Taurus. The Italian car manufacturer was passionate about the world of bullfighting, especially since he visited Eduardo Miura’s cattle ranch in Seville in 1962.
1952 – 1963
The first Lamborghini logo appeared in 1952 and lasted 10 years. It was a triangle, which was divided into 3 parts inside. In each part, 3 letters F-L-C were located clockwise. The emblem was slightly changed in color until it received the final version — a golden fighting bull on a black background.
Afterwards, all logos were connected with the image of bull. The founder of the brand was a Taurus by horoscope and a big fan of bullfighting. The businessman believed that the image of the zodiac symbol would bring him good luck, and also demonstrate the power of the brand’s sports cars. In addition, the founder of the company was a long-time fan of bullfighting. These two facts formed the basis of the brand’s logo.
1961 – 1963
In 1961 the logo was redesigned, gaining more brutality and stability. The three small triangles were now colored in plain black, while the letters got thicker and were set in white. Another thing about the logo is the wide gray outline of each small segment and the main shape.
1963 – 1972
The next logo appeared in 1963. It was a red shield with a black-and-white bull in the middle. There was also the name of the make below. This logo existed 9 years.
The bull symbolized the zodiac sign of the creator of the company. This symbol of aggressiveness was depicted in black and white on a red shield with a black outline. A calligraphic inscription with the name of the company was placed under the logo.
1972 – 1974
In 1972 there were many changes: the company name was now placed inside the logo and written in black capital letters on a yellow rectangle. The inside of the logo was in black color and the bull was depicted in yellow.
1974 – 1998
This logo was used during the period when the company was owned by Chrysler. This led to minor changes. The logo was in black and white, and as an addition, another company name appeared, but this time under the logo.
1998 – 2024
This logo has the shape of a smoothed triangle with the image of a bull and a simple color scheme. The combination of classic black (aristocracy, dignity, restraint and, consequently, reliability) and gold has made it possible to emphasize the nobility of the brand. There is a company’s name located in the upper part of the triangle and has a classic design.
2024 – Today
A new version of the famous Lamborghini crest was introduced at the beginning of 2024. The new badge got flat and switched its color palette to a calmer one, replacing the yellow-orangy gold with the grayish one, the lettering got lighter, while the frame of the black crest — was thicker. The main element of the brand’s identity the Taurus, was redrawn in thick golden contours on a black background, making up sleek images.
Lamborghini Aventador logo
The Lamborghini Aventador is a two-door and two-seater supercar introduced on February 28, 2011. The Aventador was created as the successor to the Murciélago that had been in production for ten years. Along with the Bugatti Veyron, it is one of the fastest cars in the world. Each of the models, in addition to the company emblem, has a logo with its own name, made in an Unbound font.
Emblem and Symbol
Throughout its existence, the brand’s emblem has hardly changed. The background is a smoothed triangle on which an angry bull is placed. An interesting thing is that the animal isn’t depicted in profile, like in many other brands.
